And we aren't even sponsored by Big Baller Brand.

I slept in today longer than I've slept in any other day. I kept waking up throughout the night because the rain was aggressively loud and therefore I needed to sleep until 12:08pm to feel fully rested (:
I worked for 2.5 hours and ate breakfast (?) until it was time to meet up with Facu, my Argentine friend. Facu is going to the US next week (Houston, Texas) for a conference and he wanted to run some questions by me. He speaks English very well but he gets caught up on more colloquial phrases, which is very normal. It's so hard to learn a second language in its totality... there are so many little phrases and sayings that are probably impossible to master if you didn't grow up speaking the language.
I did homework for the rest of the day until dinner. Cassandra and I went to the same vegetarian place I went to last week and I really really love this place. It's so cute! And the waiter is so nice and always asks us how to say certain things in English. Plus they give you bread and a pumpkin / chickpea hummus-like sauce for free and don't charge a table cover fee like many other places here!
I ordered the quesadillas and soup, and I picked the pumpkin soup. Cassandra got some kind of Thai noodles and didn't finish it all so of course I ate the rest. Really got a big bang for my buck. And there's nothing we love to see more than that now is there, folks? We also both got beers and their servings here are bigger than one standard drink (and heck yeah I know how much a standard drink is cuz I'm #educated) so it was really like 1.5 beers and that was a good time.
After dinner, we went to Rapanui because what else were we gonna do? Go home? Yeah ok. After looking at the ice cream for a long time, we decided not to get any. We started to walk out but then we took a second to come to our senses and made the smarter decision to get some ice cream. We split a small cone and basically each got a scoop for about $1!
There's a guy named Michel who works at Rapanui and he lived in Chicago for 10 years and I was so happy when he recognized me tonight! I planned to talk to him and befriend him but he literally disappeared when we went to go order our ice cream. Cassie and I were on the lookout for him for a good 20 minutes until I finally asked a worker where Michel is and he told me that he left. I said, "We're friends tho..." And that worker did not speak English so he just kind of looked at me and then walked away. Guess I'll have to go back again to try to befriend Michel (and eat more ice cream).

I really enjoyed spending the night with Cassie and getting to know her better. She isn't the type to talk about herself at all so it's always kind of exciting to learn new things about her. We have plans to run together tomorrow and to maybe go to a Food Fest nearby. Looking forward to it!
Another great thing about today is that Clarisa was exceptionally sweet to me. When I was leaving to go to the plaza to meet up with Facu, she said, "Estás linda!" (you are pretty) and she complimented my hair! Then later when she asked me how my studying was going, she told me she was confident in me and that she knows I'm ready for my exam. She said she is positive because I am prepared and intelligent. Omg bae, thank you!
Buenas noches a todos.
