September 27, 2018: Free cheese fries!!!

I was recontra (extremely) productive today, and topped it all off with eating some free cheese fries with Loli!! Utter success. 10/10.

I planned to wake up early, slept for 1.5 more hours after my alarm went off, and then finally got up. First things first (rip Uncle Phil) I started reading. I decided today will be my day of productivity. After reading for a bit, I ate breakfast and it included one of the facturas that Clarisa bought me. It had pasta de almendras (like almond paste) inside and it was amazing.

I continued reading until Cassandra and I went for a run around 12:30pm. I really like running with her and hanging with her in general because she's just an all around chiller. Never any drama with her.

I worked out rather intensely after my run and am proud to announce I shaved my legs when I showered. Today was productive in all ways, shapes, and forms.

Put me on a Gillete commercial somebody please.

For the rest of the day until I dinner I just worked and worked and worked. We need to write a group article for my journalism class and I decided to be a saint and write this article for my group. My fellow group members were so kind and thankful and one of them told me, "Vas al cielo, Juli," (you'll go to heaven) hahaha. At least there's one person out there who thinks it.

I got enough work done today that I think I'll be able to finish the rest of it tomorrow and then be able to study all day Saturday and Sunday for my parcial (midterm) Monday. I rewarded myself by watching one episode of 'Black Mirror' and I swear I get a lump in my throat every single time I watch it. So thought-provoking. So disturbing.

Clarisa and I ate dinner and for the first time talked about politics. I really enjoyed the conversation. She talks very maturely about the subject, even when talking about people she is not fond of. I also realized that she is lowkey hilarious. And savage. She just has a very distinct manner of explaining things and her gestures and intonation can be very entertaining. Never know what you're gonna get from that woman.

After dinner, I went out with Loli to Temple Bar because I received an email gifting me free cheese fries from there!! The email said something like, "Julia we haven't seen you in so long! Here are free fries." So I was like dang maybe even if I space out my visits enough I can just always get free fries there.

Spending the night with Loli was so fun (as usual) and we talked about our shared fear of needles and really anything related to hospitals / hospital visits. We also showed each other photos of our families and friends and I just really am going to miss her so much when I leave :( But I'm so lucky to have her as a friend and be with her now!

P.S. - I saw the FATTEST spider I've ever seen in my room today, bent down for 2 seconds to grab my shoe to kill it, and it DISAPPEARED. I sprayed a hellish amount of Raid where I saw it but I have no idea if it is still in here or not. Pray that I make it through the night please.

P.P.S. - I really weirdly didn't eat lunch today. I ate the second pastry that Clarisa got me around 4:30pm and that somehow sustained me until dinner... Ok well I had to eat a slice of bread before dinner cuz I couldn't make it all the way but basically I skipped almuerzo hoy!

P.P.P.S. - Today, Randi Geffrey's soccer team gave up 4 goals and they all happened when she was off the field. Coincidence? I think not.
