And good food, don't you doubt it.

How awkward do I look here. I'm like Randall the purple monster from Monsters Inc.

I'm proud to say I woke up at 11:24am after having gone to bed just before 5:00am. Shockingly made it through the day without a nap, too. I ate a delicious breakfast and then started to read. About an hour later, I went on a run with a girl on my program, Cassandra. She lives literally around the corner and she runs about every other day so yay for me finding a running buddy.

I pretty much read the entire day besides running and eating. At one point, it seemed like a massive storm was rolling in. The sky was straight up YELLOW and I tried to take pics but you can't tell whatsoever that it was literally yellow out. But the wind picked up a ton and it rained aggressively for like 30 seconds. Weird stuff.

Cassandra and I decided to go get ice cream, naturally, because she had mentioned this really cool place that makes your ice cream fresh and serves it in a waffle cone... like legitimately made out of a waffle. Look at the photo and see if you can guess what flavor I got.

It was lavender honey flavor! Doesn't that taste like soap? Yes it does. Very good soap.

It was nice to go there and to spend time with Cassandra because I don't really know her that well but she's chill. Her host mom and my host mom are BFFs so it would be a sin if we weren't friends too.

After ice cream I walked to dinner (yeah, in that order) with my friend Andrea. It was awesome to see her and to catch up. She is so funny and pretty similar to me so hanging with her is always a good time / filled with laughter. We went to a vegetarian / vegan restaurant and the food was delicious! And really affordable! I got quinoa thai with mint, almonds, onions, and probably something else. It was supposed to come with jalapeños but I can't handle the spice so I said naw to that.

After dinner, I walked Andrea halfway home and it was so nice out and tons of people were out since it's a Saturday night. Andrea and I were talking about how crazy it is that we are already approaching the halfway point of our study abroad experience. Ever since moving, I have discovered so many things that I want to see and try and do and now I wonder if there's time to do it all. I'm also meeting new people and developing friendships and it's sad to think that soon I'll be so far from it all. Leaving Argentina will be surreal. It's not like it's an accessible place I can return to easily. So gotta make the most of it now.

The craziest of coincidences happened as we were talking about this. Andrea and I walked past a restaurant that was playing música (almost all restaurants in this area have an open front and play music and have string lights - so fun!) and the song "Mr. Brightside" was playing. This is the song that everyone associates with Davidson. At the end of parties, they always play this song because it basically means "party's over, get out," but it also has really nostalgic vibes. So it was just like a freaky coincidence that we were having this deep convo about how much we love it here and how different it is here versus at Davidson and we happened to hear this song at that exact moment. You probably had to be there to really understand it though.

I have to wake up disgustingly early for the 5K tomorrow so chau for now.

Song Recommendation of the Day: "OMG" by Camila Cabello ft. Quavo

P.S. - Andrea and I passed this graffiti on our walk to dinner and it is hilarious.
