I'm on a boat and... it's going fast and...

Today was an adventure and a half. I woke up feeling not at all refreshed from my night out. I ended up going to a bar with Loli and 3 of her friends and then heading to a previa at our Argentine friend's apartment. It was very chill vibes and it was nice but they all wanted to go out to a club at 2am and that was when I said peace betchez. Oooh and Clarisa gifted me a Turron candy bar randomly last night and it was a-maz-ing. Look it up. Anyway, I went to bed at 3am... jeepers.

Granola, bananas, milk, peanut butter.

Good news is that my morning started off RIGHT. Look at this goddess of a meal. I then headed for the subte and went to the meeting point for our trip to Tigre, a city within the province of Buenos Aires. The organization who ran the program was soooo disorganized. They took us to a train station that no longer existed and we ended up having to walk all the way back, paying for a bus to go to a different train station, and arriving 1.5 hours late. Oh well, we made it.

The first thing we did when we got there was eat lunch. I am both ashamed and proud to admit that I went to Burger King and ordered the Doritos burger. I was so intrigued I couldn't not order it. I also ordered a small ice cream sundae, too. Oopsies. We passed a place called Waffles del mundo and I was so tempted to get a waffle and deck it out with unhealthy condiments but I resisted. My sickening but delicious lunch was enough.

We then did a boat tour that went through parts of 6 rivers and it was actually so awesome. I could not imagine living along the river like these people do. It gave me coast of Mississippi vibes (not that I've ever been there) and it was pretty cool and calming. I thought we were gonna tip every time a cross wave came in our path but clearly I lived to tell this story so that never happened.

Each house was very unique and it was fun to see how they each decorated their docks. There were a couple of really architecturally interesting buildings along the way, as well.

We passed a closed amusement park, which was cool yet incredibly ominous, a little community center type of place, and a school! Do kids here take the school boat to school? I truly don't understand how it works. And how do they get their groceries???

"All aboard, betchez!"

After the boat tour, we walked through China Town. There were a lot of interesting looking foods and desserts but I didn't buy anything. One girl in our group bought what I thought was a dessert and she offered me a bite. I asked her what it was and she said it was a "crepe." Hmm sure didn't taste like a crepe. Slightly resembled one but not really. Turns out I ate a little piece of crab today. Last time I did that I puked it all back up on my aunt's white carpet. Sorry, Nema!!

We then went to Puerto de frutos where there is a ton of artesanía (crafts) (plus random shit no one needs). We dilly-dallied there for about 30 minutes and then it was time to head home... which ended up being a 2 hour journey. We took the train from the end terminal all the way to the start, then I got on subte línea C, transferred to línea D, and walked 1 kilometer home. Raise your hand if you already know what I did when I got home. That's right, I laid in bed and didn't get up for 1.5 hours.

I finally got up to eat dinner. I went to this amazing restaurant that they only have in Argentina... it's called McDonald's. Ate my 5 "sticks de pollo" with guacamole and barbecue sauce and walked back home. The walks to and from Mickey D's were actually quite refreshing and I discovered some new places that I want to try out in the future!

Since being home, I've caught up with Clarisa about our days, planned out my entire day for tomorrow, facetimed my momma, and done some little organizing tasks. I'm looking forward to having a productive day tomorrow!

Although my trip to Tigre was not ideal by any means (it also started raining while we were there), I'm happy and fortunate to have traveled today and to have all day tomorrow to relax! Buenas noches.
