Happy Halloween, folks! My day was full of treats!!

I feel so genuinely happy and it's amazing. I love when a smile just lingers on your face after a good time. That's the state I'm in right now.
So I woke up this fine Halloween, decided to dress nicely for the day, ate my breakfast, and headed out. I enjoyed class as always and I gifted my group members each an alfajor and a little note. One of them, we call him El chino, was oh so grateful and he hugged me and told me I'm an "amor." He is hilarious and so kind to me! It turns out I only have one class session left for that class and we don't have homework this week so I am technically done with it (besides having to attend class next Wednesday). I am genuinely going to miss that class. The teacher is incredible and the students make me feel so comfortable. I think back to my first day in that class - which, by the way, was my first class ever in Argentina - and how nervous I was and how I wanted to cry, and now I am so so so happy I took the class.
During the recreo, I ate a nice balanced meal - an apple and a very disproportionate amount of dulce de leche to dip it in! Please ignore the fact that I look like Randall from Monsters Inc. in that middle photo...
Class ended early and Loli and I went to Cafe Martinez where I worked on my essay a little bit, ate some yogurt with fruit, and of course laughed my booty off with Loli. She sent me an audio of a Spanish-speaking woman trying very hard to say "Feliz Halloween" but failing every time. It sounds like she says "hwaluwee" and "haulolween" and you can hear her go, "Como se dice???" in the background. It had me laughing so hard I almost cried. But that's not even the funniest part of my day... just wait for it.

Loli always jokes around and makes fun of her and her friends' pronunciation of various English words. She sends me messages spelled phonetically like "sou suiiit" to say "so sweet" and "ai lav iu" to say "I love you." Here we are above being "sou saaad."
Around 2:15pm, we left the cafe and I headed to my next class while Loli headed home. I took a mini break in Plaza Lavalle and just laid on the bench with my eyes closed. I started to think about how I won't be seeing this view for too much longer :( So I soaked it in. But not actually, since my eyes were closed... but metaphorically.
Class was great because we had a Halloween feast. One girl brought a ton of candy, someone brought chips, and I brought a kilo of dulce de leche lololol. We were dipping all sorts of stuff in the dulce. Turns out potato chips + dulce de leche is an incredible combo. Don't hate it 'til you try it.
We talked about the morality of using torture and that was... heated. Essentially the entire class was of the belief that torture is never acceptable, except for one girl. Poor gal took our HEAT. I don't support the use of torture ever, but I'm open to hearing your opinions if you wanna chat about it. Lemme know.
A bunch of classmates headed to Parque Las Heras after class to play ping pong! I still had to go for a run so I planned to run to the park, play for a bit, and then continue my run. It worked out perfectly! It was great to see them and the 10 minutes I was there were very fun. I'm ashamed to admit we lost the first game 0 to 7, but won all the rest.
I had a bit of a runner's high after my run and I am happy for that! Looking forward to my run tomorrow. I did some abs and showered when I got home and then I had hands down the FUNNIEST dinner of my life. It is not going to be as funny as I try to explain it here but let me just say that I was laughing so so hard there were actual tears streaming out of my eyes and I felt like a literal 6-pack of abs was developing as I laughed. It was such a deep fit of laughter stemming from my gut. It felt so good. My heart is full.
We were essentially making fun of Clarisa's best friend, Christina, which sounds really bad, but it was all in good, kind spirit. Clarisa played me a very long stream of audios that they sent back in forth to each other and we were laughing so hard at Christina's use of the English language. She knows very little but she sure as heck knows the F bomb and "sh*t." She played me a long string of audios of Christina saying, "Life... is sh*t," over and over and Clarisa responding with the exact same phrase. Then there's one audio where Christina says, "F**king life..." and, "Love is f**king." Clarisa responds to her: "Love is not f**king......... f**king is love." HAHAHA I was laughing so hard. I wish I could attach the audios to this post so you could really understand how hilarious this was.
It's currently 10:49pm and I'm about to go out with Cassie and a mutual friend that we ironically both met here! We have to wear a costume and I have NOTHING. I seriously think I'm gonna bring some slices of bread and say I'm a bread winner... my options are very limited. I'll resume this post when I get home and let you know how the night went!
Well somehow it is now 3:44am and I certainly wasn't expecting to still be up at this hour. But I ain't mad about it. We went to Temple Bar with our friend Cat and that was very lowkey and chill. Oh, we ended up being "French Toast" for Halloween, if you didn't figure that out yet. Cassie was a mime / French person and I brought sliced bread so French person + bread = French Toast. Creative, I know.
Around 1:00am, we headed to a nearby boliche because you got in free with a costume and I already had a free entrance ticket. I was so tired and just about ready to leave as soon as we got there, but Cassie and I felt bad ditching Cat so we stayed for a while. We decided that we would for sure leave at 2:00am and wouldn't ya know it, some guys approached us at 1:57am and that turned into 1.5 hours of talking and hanging out!
They're all from Chile but they're in Buenos Aires for a few days to celebrate their mom's birthday (2 of them are brothers). They were very very kind and friendly and, unlike most males in the clubs, not creepy at all! We are going to try to meet up with them again this weekend! They also spoke English very well which was cool.
Funny story from the club: This guy photobombed me and Cassie's pic and then tried talking to us but we had extreme difficulty communicating with one another. We finally figured out that he is from Brazil and does not speak Spanish, but he did know a fair amount of English! He told me he visited Chicago recently for work and described it as "New York, but cleaner!" I told him he's right and that Chicago is better. He said, "Yeah... but let's not tell anyone. It's our secret." Lol ok. And now my whole blog knows the secret hahaha all 17 of you. He also kept asking to "see a move" and I kept saying "nawwww." He told me he'll give me a break and return in 1 minute to see my dance move. Guess who didn't come back in 1 minute? Our dear Brazilian friend, that is who.
I'm going to shut my eyes now. I hope you are all dreaming sweet dreams.
Song Recommendation of the Day: "Serial Killer" by Lana Del Rey
P.S. - When we were walking home, Cassie said, "I don't trust groups of men on the street," as we passed 3 men on the street corner. I found that comment to be funny... and also sadly true.
