And a whole lot of laying around.

Today was a rather chill day and I'm glad. Loli and I both slept in... her for far longer than I did... and then we ate breakfast with her parents once resurrected.

This was a fun start to my day. Loli's dad was wearing a shirt that said, "Chicago" and it was the White Sox logo. I told him there are two baseball teams in Chicago and he asked me, "Are they both called 'Chicago baseball team'?" Lol not exactly.

After breakfast, Loli and I sat outside for a while and enjoyed the nice weather. Her mom whipped out a picture book from Loli's 15th birthday party (it's a big thing here, like a quinceañera basically) and Loli was begging me not to look through it so you know I had to. It was so cute! And a lot of her friends that I've met in Buenos Aires were in the photos and it was funny to see what they looked like 7 years ago.

Some time passed and then we ate lunch - an asado. It was delicious! Loli's dad was being hilarious telling me to take photos of him to show my dad. He held up a big piece of steak and said, "Tell Fat Mike that if he wants this, he needs to come here and get it." Lol.

After lunch, we let that food settle in our guts and I took a deep power nap for 20 minutes. Then at 4:30pm I went to go on a run. Loli's mom ran the first 1.5 miles with me!! I enjoyed the run because I got to see more of the neighborhood and there was a nice dirt path that we turned onto right around 1.5 miles in. As much as I complain about having to run sometimes, being a runner is awesome because you get to see so much when you travel and run through a new area.

The beautiful dessert that Loli's mama made.

When I got back, I showered and then 3 of Loli's friends came over and we all sat in the backyard and talked. It was soooo nice, I really enjoyed it. I haven't met a single one of Loli's friends that rubbed me the wrong way! They are all so nice. And you know I am not a very patient / tolerant person... so that's saying something.

We drank mate, ate galletitas, listened to music, and talked. One of the girls who came was the little sister of Loli's friend (who was also there) and she was only 12 years old but she was so mature! She asked me if I play sports and when I said that I run track she said she had a feeling because of how I looked hehe. She said she also runs track!! Yeah baby go track.

The friends left around 9:00pm and then Loli and I laid in our respective beds for a while to relax. Around 10:30pm, we all went to the living room to watch a show and eat dinner. I wasn't really hungry at all so I ate some salad and a little bit more of the dessert and that was it.

Cool speaker that they gifted Loli's mom for Día de la Madre.

We decided to watch "Black Mirror" and the first episode was sooooo creepy. At one point, there was a scene with a jump scare and I ~literally~ screamed (an expletive) and Loli's family burst out laughing. The second episode wasn't as scary but it sure was messed up, as all "Black Mirror" episodes are.

Minus the horrible allergic reaction that I've been having to Loli's 4 pets, I loved this mini vacation and I am so glad I decided to come here. I definitely needed a break from Buenos Aires. Sometimes you don't realize that you need a break until you leave the place you're always in and see how nice it feels. We leave to go back to Buenos Aires early tomorrow morning and I feel ready! I'm going to have to grind the next couple of weeks because classes are wrapping up and that means it's time to write final papers... but as Claire Nieusma says: C's get degrees. So I'll just aim for that. Just kidding, but I'm gonna try not to stress too much cuz I know I'll get everything done... eventually.
