You ever take a freezing cold shower and start sweating immediately after you step out? Today was one of those days.

I didn't quite sleep enough but I woke up naturally before my alarm went off and that is a beautiful thing. I started my day by working on the essay because Julie and I intended to finish it completely today. Before I ate breakfast, I went on a brief walk throughout my neighborhood. I thought it would be nice to start my day with some sun and fresh air... and it was nice! When I got back - and my stomach was GRUMBLING - I ate breakfast and that was swell.

Not what I ate for breakfast, but some very tempting desserts I saw in a cafe one time.

I continued to work on the essay until about 2:00pm when Cassie and I went out to lunch. I ordered a salad with a LOT of quinoa (plus olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, and other stuff) and it was good! I saved half of it for leftovers. I realized that I've been over-eating simply because I am eating what I see. I remember watching a show when I was younger where they proved that you eat less if you are blind-folded because you are not just mindlessly eating the food you see. So I'm trying to be more aware of that!

Cassie eating her burritos, which she described as "not the best burritos" she's ever eaten.

We went for a brief walk after lunch (obviously in search of free food) but it was SO HOT that we didn't last long. At one point today, the sensación térmica (the 'feels like' section in the weather app) said 96 degrees!! Yowza.

From 3:00pm to about 4:00pm I continued doing revisions on the essay, and then took a lovely nap until 5:00pm. Like yesterday, I woke up in a very dazed state, and not to mention very sweaty, but I snapped out of it. Julie and I were going to go to a bar to complete the finishing touches on our essay, but it was closed :/ So we worked in the garden area in front of my house instead. WE FINALLY FINISHED!!!!! 36 pages in total... never gonna stress about a 5 page paper again after writing that nightmare. Just kidding, I probably will still stress about short papers too.

We finished just before 7:00pm and then Cassie and I went on a run. Never in my 20.47 years of life have I sweat so much. Even after I finished the run and returned to my house, the sweat would NOT stop dripping off of my body. If my sweat had been potable, I would've provided enough liquid to quench the thirst of an entire village.

Now that you understand it was hot out, I can continue with my day. I showered - obviously - and then just relaxed in my room until dinner. I was oh so hungry and Clarisa was running behind today, but I ate 8 mini goldfish to hold me over until dindin. We ate milanese de pollo with some beautiful melted cheese on top and a salad. Well actually just lettuce but that counts.

After dinner, I typed most of this post and did a little workout in my room. I had been trying to decide between going out or having a movie night + sleepover with Loli... the issue is that I didn't want to go out to a club or even drink anything tonight, but I did want to be social, enjoy the nice weather and one of my last weekends in Buenos Aires, and meet new people. However, a movie night with Loli was also incredibly tempting...

I ultimately decided to go out because I will see Loli tomorrow anyway (most likely) and because it's already pretty late that we wouldn't get many movies / shows in tonight. Plus I should take advantage of the few weekend nights I have left in this city. Hopefully we can do a movie night soon though!

It's 11:30pm now so I guess I'll go change out of my pajamas and into more acceptable clothing... I will conclude the rest of this post when I get home (probably at some absurd hour) later tonight.

It is now 4:14am, an absurd hour as I predicted, and I am beyond ready to go to sleep. We ended up going to Temple Bar and stayed there until 3:00am!!! It was super fun - it was me, Cassie, a fellow person from the US named Casey, and 2 Argentine guys.

Here is a brief summary of the night: I kept eating the free popcorn and Casey said to me, "Can you stop being a squirrel??" Um no, I can't stop. We #freeganed some free fries, some Russian guys bought my group of friends a total of 10 drinks and we have no idea why but are oh so grateful and officially love Russians, we walked 20 minutes to a club only to be denied entrance because one of the Argentines was wearing swim trunks, he told us to enter without him, I said I won't support a place that discriminates like that, and we all walked home. I might also add that the other Argentine was fairly rude to me the entire night and it reached a point where it wasn't a joke anymore so I told him off :) Overall, I'm glad I went out tonight and met some new people! Even if one of them was rude to me the whole time.

Sleep well, friends. Arrivederci.
