I couldn't have asked for a better day. You're gonna love today's #freegan findings.

The sound of my neighbor gardening and playing (crappy) music at 6:33am was just how I imagined starting my day. SIKE! But oh well. Such is life in the city. I was able to sleep for a bit longer and then got to work around 10:30am. Julie and I have to give a mini presentation of some readings tomorrow, so we split up work for that and worked separately on each of our parts throughout the morning.

I ate a very tasty breakfast, continued working on my portion, and then did a workout in my room around 2:00pm. We met up in the park one block over around 3:30pm. We rehearsed our presentation - but didn't try that hard because we are so over this class and don't really care that much about it as long as we pass - and then just laid in the grass for a while.

After our little break, we made a plan of action for the rest of our essay. We are currently at 17 full pages!! I'm not sure how closely you've been tracking our progress (you probably haven't been at all) but we're fricking swaggin' on this paper. We both agreed that the hard part isn't even writing it, it's just motivating ourselves to actually write it. Ahh isn't that always the challenge...

We parted ways around 4:30pm, partly because we were finished, partly because I was going to pee myself if I didn't get to a bathroom in the next 2 minutes. What can I say? I'm hydrated.

When I got home, and peed, I worked for a bit on the essay and snacked on Goldfish for the first time in at least 4 months. Unless you've suffered an absence of Goldfish for such a long time, don't even pretend like you know how hard it is. So great to be reunited with those savory orange fishies. A highlight of my day, truly.

I left to go for a run around 6:50pm. It was beautiful outside - sun was setting and the temperature was perfect. I rarely get to see the sunset here since I live in an area with lots of tall buildings and not a ton of open space. The benefit of running around sunset is that you can go to the parks and more open spaces and see the colorful sky!

So as I was running, I was naturally doing some maths in my head and calculating my pace and distance and all that obsessive stuff and out of nowhere, someone jumped in my path and stretched their arms out in front of me. I screamed... an expletive... and then I realized it was my friend, Andrea! All the people nearby turned around abruptly because of my little shriek lol but all was well, just one friend saying hello to another. It was nice to see her and catch up briefly, and to take a 5 minute break from my run of course hehe.

I think photos like these with blurry lights are pretty cool, how bout you?

When I got home from my run, I iced my shins for a bit and watched a Tasty food video on YouTube. They were showing us how to cut a turkey and I thought, Wow that's actually disgusting, I never want to eat one again. Once you see a raw lil turkey, you don't be wanting to eat one...

I asked Cassie if she wanted to go on a walk and, as a fellow lover of caminando (walking), she said yes. We didn't walk anywhere specific but it was nice to be outside on a warm night. I feel like I've been living in eternal summer! Freeganism wasn't even on the forefront of our minds, but about 30 minutes into our walk we realized something - there is an opportunity to find wasted food tonight that we cannot pass up.

It was only 8:30pm and people usually don't eat dinner here until at least 9:00pm... chances were slim. But don't you doubt us. Two girls on a mission cannot be stopped. Here we are stunting on you with some French fries we snagged. Little did we know, this was only the beginning of our exceptional freegan hunt.

It's like some greater force out there in the universe heard about our mission and decided to reward us. Just moments later, we stumbled across the find of a lifetime: CHEESE FRIES. A whole basket of them. We grabbed the entire basket, crossed the street to sit in the park, and enjoyed a free appetizer.

The greatest part is that NO ONE cared that we did it. Cassie and I both commented on that. There was a couple that undoubtedly saw us grab it and they simply gave no craps. They were probably inspired, honestly. **Side note: what kind of maniac pays for cheese fries and then... doesn't... eat... them...?

This truly made our night. Upon finding this treasure, Cassie said she realized that finding food is "actually so fun and is a great hobby. Like if you're bored or sad just do that." French fries and bread can be found everywhere, people!! If that's not encouragement to go be a freegan, I don't know what is.

When I got home, I pretended to still be hungry as I dined with Clarisa and now I think I'm going to watch a movie! I don't feel like working tonight and a movie seems fun. Goodnight my little cheese fries.

P.S. - Look at this picture of me eating bread (that I got for free of course) earlier today HAHAHAAHA
