Despite our sleep deprivation, we managed to cover many parts of the city and have a rather eventful day!

I woke up around 9:00am feeling wholly unrested and began communicating with Adam who had finally reached his hostel 3 blocks from my house after a nearly 1.5 hour car ride from the airport. I decided to be a lovely little sister and surprise my starving brother with a banana. I walked to his hostel and when I saw him walk past the window I whispered "greche" (our code word for hunger) and then watched him pause, trace back his steps, and find me... or rather, the banana he so eagerly accepted.

We decided to meet back up in one hour so that I could eat breakfast and he could nap. I ate breakfast while he ended up not napping and then we met back up. We first headed to el centro where he saw El Obelisco, we walked on Calle Florida, and we obviously took some selfies with the giant BA letters.
After that, we walked to Plaza Lavalle and past the entrance to Teatro Colón which was both beautiful and underwhelming at the same time. We were headed to Cementerio de la Recoleta but wanted to stop for lunch on the way. And boi did we hit the jackpot.

We found a vegetarian comida por peso place that charges you for the weight of your food and it was super cheap and super delicious. I loaded my plate up with olives, god I love em. We also ate the food using Adam's reusable, sustainable utensils! I highly recommend everyone investing in a set!
With our stomachs, and more importantly our hearts, full, we continued walking to the cemetery. Luckily it was just a brief walk before we arrived to the entrance. Like the sneaky fox I am, I of course hid my leftovers in my bag and snuck them in no problem. I learned that you can't take food in the hard way after I walked in last time eating a donut and got screamed at lol.
The cemetery was cool I guess (not as cool the 3rd time you go) and Adam and I walked around there for about 30 minutes. We found Evita Peron's grave which was nice because my parents and I were unable to find it last time!!
Adam and I found it incredibly disrespectful that the cemetery has signs that guide you to Sarmiento's grave (a guy who did a lot for education but was super racist) but they don't have signs for Evita Peron, who is the reason women in Argentina have voting rights... seems a little odd, no?
We left the cemetery and walked around Plaza Francia which surrounds it for a while. We then crossed a very cool and curvy bridge to go see Floralis Genérica, which is a massive metal "flower" that opens with sunlight and closes at sunset. To be honest it's kind of ugly but it's also kind of cool. Just like me!
We sat on these dope wooden lawn chair recliner things that were just begging us to lay down in them. Quite comfy, 10/10. We laid there for a while and then decided to head home, nap, and meet up later. It's a theme here if you haven't noticed yet.
When I got home, I went through some emails and organized the coming days for Adam and I, and then took my blesséd nap. I woke up around 5:30pm, ate my leftover salad, and then went on a run with Cassie. It was a perfectly not-too-warm not-too-cold temperature and lots of people were out exercising. We both agreed the run went by pretty fast! Must be cuz we're some fast gals...
Adam and I met back up a little while later and walked to Distrito Arcos which is a really neat outdoor shopping mall with lots of pop-up food stands and food trucks. We didn't buy anything... although I was tempted... and we walked back to meet up with Cassie for dinner. We stopped to each eat an empanada along the way and those were yum sauce.
Adam then met Cassie (#worldscollide) and we walked to dinner. We went to a vegetarian restaurant that Cassie and I have both been to before and it was pretty good. We weren't overly satisfied but it wasn't necessarily disappointing. It was, however, necessary to finish that meal off with some ice cream.
Luckily they had some vegan options so Adam was able to join in on the fun. I got the same flavor I always pretend I won't get again but get every time (vanilla with candied pecans) and tiramisu. So delicious.
We all walked back to our respective homes and now I am pretty dang tired and gonna try to get lots of rest for day #2 of being a kind of decent tour guide for Adam.
Buenas noches.
