Cuz I balled out today.

I'd like to start by wishing my lovely parents a very happy 28th (I think) anniversary!!! Who knew a panda and a snake could have such a loving relationship for so long!? Also not to mention it does happen to be my half birthday... very important and relevant I know... so here's to being halfway to 41 years old.

I woke up at 8:45am to go play basketball before it got too hot out and wow it is incredible how much longer the day feels when you wake up before 11:00am. I ate breakfast, hydrated, and loaded on the sunscreen before leaving at 9:30am. It was already 80 degrees laaaaawd.

I walked about 25 minutes to the polideportivo and met up with a kid on my program, Duncan, and we balled up. This was my first time playing in over 5 months and it surprisingly didn't go that badly. Granted we were just shooting around, not playing 1-on-1 or anything. Although I would've smoked him. Hahaha just kidding he is 6 foot 1 and very good at basketball. I did, however, manage to win the 2 rounds of H-O-R-S-E and 1 round of P-I-G that we played! Luck of the lefty maybe hmmm.

Why were the cookies sitting in fishbowls though?

On the walk home, I passed by this place selling these godly looking cookies and was so very tempted to get one but I kept walking. I'm a strong woman, what can I say?

When I got home just after 12:00pm, I made myself lunch and was pleasantly surprised to see I actually had a ton of beans and lentils leftover to eat. After eating, I decided I needed to suck it up and take the STAMP test. This is a test that measures your Spanish abilities (reading, writing, etc.) and even though we took it when we got here, our program is making us take it again. It broke down twice while I was taking it but I eventually finished around 3:00pm. Glad that's out of the way.

I stretched for a little bit and then ran with Cassie at 3:30pm. It was 90 degrees out with zero wind. The heat was sweltering. It felt like the sun was blazing through us wherever it touched our skin. But we tried to maximize running in the shade and finally finished.

I lifted after my run and took a nice chilly shower and then I felt so refreshed. Cassie and I agreed that running really lifts your mood. Despite this, I did feel pretty exhausted so I spent a while just laying in bed and watching some YouTube videos of course.

Around 7:00pm, Cassie and I walked to the dietética to buy some food for Uruguay. We have to cover 3 meals - 2 lunches and 1 dinner - so we bought food to cover the 2 lunches since Uruguay is significantly more expensive that Buenos Aires. To be exact, we bought 10 bagels... surely that'll cover 2 lunches with the peanut butter and other snacks we bring.

When I got home I relaxed for a little bit and then packed for Uruguay. Shocking I packed ahead of time, I know. Getting more responsible each and every day. Then I ate some bomb ravioli with Clarisa and she gave me some tiramisu cake... thank you Clarisa bae. She was being hilarious throughout the whole dinner and talking about wanting to marry a man she knows who owns a big mansion... can't blame her. Too bad he's gay though.

Clarisa modeling with the ravioli.

At 10:15pm, Cassie and I went out to a bar to say goodbye to our friends from another program that leave this weekend and also so that I could see Loli... it's been 2 weeks!!! They all showed up so late that we ended up waiting in an ice cream shop with our friend who owns it until they got there. We returned to the bar and Loli and I ordered some cheese fries which were probably unnecessary but definitely worth it. It was so great to see Loli after not having seen her for so long!!

Now I am deceaséd and going to sleep. Peace and love. Cheerz to having to wake up at 5:50am.

I will not be able to post on this blog while I'm in Uruguay so expect to hear from me Sunday night!
