I hope you both noticed and appreciated the alliteration in the title of this post.

I had myself a day and a half, folks. I know you all expected me to watch food videos before going to bed last night, but I actually DID end up working more on my essay!! I got done a whopping 1.5 pages before hitting the metaphorical hay. Sadly, I was utterly unable to sleep throughout the night and woke up - yet again - feeling unrested as ever. Tonight I am going to read a book before I sleep and hopefully that wears me out.
When I finally rolled out of bed, I went for a walk. I took a ton of photos of all the artistic paintings and graffiti I passed by, as well as the colorful storefronts, which will be featured in an upcoming post! But here are some for you to enjoy now.
Starting my day off with lots of beauty was nice. When I got home I ate breakfast and it was also too beautiful not to share with you.
I got straight to work on my essay and was luckily able to write with ease. I wrote until about 1:30pm when I went for my run. About halfway in, these 2 girls that I had seen running earlier stopped at the water fountain I was at and I felt bold so I asked if I could join them and they said yes!
After speaking in Spanish for about 30 seconds I realized they were absolutely not from here and found out they were French! (We switched to English after that.) One of the girls is studying abroad like me and the other is just visiting and arrived here yesterday. We ran about 1.5 miles together and then parted ways and it was nice to have company for part of the run and meet some new people.
When I got home, I was sweating like a madwoman so I hopped in the shower right away and then made myself some lunch. I made the classic bowl o' beans but this time it was so much better because I bought tomato sauce (which comes pre-seasoned) instead of chunky tomatoes. I also cut up a big green apple and poured fruity yogurt on top.
After lunch, I continued working on the paper until about 5:30pm and then I facetimed my mama. That was a lovely call full of laughter. Bless that sweet woman's heart.
I continued to work on my essay until dinner and I was able to finish it just in time!! Clarisa gave me this slice of torta pasquilina or something like that stuffed with zapallito (field pumpkin) and covered in cheese. I <3 cheese. Not really sure what I consumed thought.
After dinner, I did the citations and bibliography for my paper and now all that's left is to prepare a presentation of it before Wednesday afternoon. I'm happy I could get it done so quickly and not have to stress over it!

Around 11:00pm, Cassie asked me if I wanted to go on a walk and I'm always down for that so we went. She's been stressed about her final projects as well and needed a break from staring at her computer screen... #relatable.
I got home around 11:40pm, finished the bibliography, and now I'm going to get ready for bed. Let's see how this whole "reading a book before bed" thing goes...
