Just wait til you find out their names...

I left my house in a rush to get to the kinesiologist and a fricking TORTUGA was sitting right next to the door!!! And there was another one 10 feet away!!! I called out to Laura to inquire about these fine turts and all she says is, "Oh, they woke up." Lol. Uh yeah, from their 3 month nap!!! These turtles out here wildin'. I am so excited because turtles are my favorite animals and now I have two of my own (sort of). The best part was when I asked Laura about their names...

Me: Do they have names?

Laura: Yes.

Me: What are their names?

Laura: Manuel and Manuelita

HAHAHA

I later asked if they were married and she told me that Manuel tried to get with Manuelita but she left him. Sad...

Manuelita is pictured below. Swipe to the right to see Manuel.

Anyway, best start to my day ever. Went to my appointment then went to IFSA to get some work done and had a nice conversation with Patricio, one of the assistant directors. He always wears skinny jeans and that's great for him.

I stopped at a dietética on my way home - basically a place that sells healthy and usually overprice snacks - and I bought 3 packs of different kinds of nuts. I accidentally got walnuts thinking they were pecans because the word for walnuts here is "nuez" but in Mexico "nuez" means pecans, and in Chicago we speak Mexican Spanish. Oh well. I came home and made myself lunch while facetiming my mum and brother Eric. They watched me cut up some broccoli.

I continued to do work for a few hours and then napped hard for an hour. Do you ever wake up from your nap and have no idea what time of day it is and you can't remember why you had set an alarm? Like you can't remember if you had set the alarm to wake up for school or for work or for an appointment or whatever it is?! That was me. I got my bearings eventually though and continued to work and then facetimed my friend as I scarfed down some chicken. I have eaten chicken for too many nights in a row. Time for some fruit, lawd give me some please.

I then left my house to walk to the cine (movie theater) to see a movie with Julie and that was so fun and the movie was AMAZING. It's called El angel and it's based on the true story of a young serial killer here in Buenos Aires in 1971-1972. The cinematography was honestly some of the best I've ever seen and if you can stream it illegally I highly recommend doing so. It was cool cuz I understood most of the Spanish too, and anything I didn't understand wasn't relevant to understanding the plot. The only thing that both Julie and I couldn't pick up on were the jokes. The audience would laugh and then we would realize we missed the joke and chuckle 5 seconds too late. Good times though, good times. And we both got 2x1 coupons for the next time we go!!!

I came home, thought I was gonna do work, and ended up doing zero work. Love when that happens. Instead, I talked to Claire / Clarese / Clarissa and she offered me incredible advice about my Achilles and about my life like she always does. God bless that woman. I also caught up with Garnet and Randi a little bit and Randi came up with an idea that I want to share: Mood rings but instead of rings it's cars that change colors depending on the driver's mood. Just putting it out there in case any of you want to start developing her idea.

Now it's somehow 1:05am and technically not August 30 at all but cheerz to that, haterz.

Song Recommendation of the Day: "House of the Rising Sun" by The Animals

P.S. - Today it STORMED aggressively for an hour and I just hoped the turtles were okay. They survived... I checked later <3
