Today I passed a woman wearing a shirt that said "guac this way" with an image of an avocado on each of her tatas... interesting.

This was a solid Wednesday. Me levanté (I got up) at 7:50am, got ready for class, nibbled some crackers per ush (How does one spell "ush"? As in "usual." Could you tell that's what I was saying? Let me know.), and then hopped on the subway and skrrted to clase.
I was running 3 minutes late, which is still considered early here, but I was slightly worried I would awkwardly walk in while the profe was teaching. Great news is we rode the elevator up to class together cuz she was late too lol. I am really proud of myself for being less obvious about my fatigue in class today. I thrived and survived. Also, I figured out how to reformat my group's website and they all thanked me and hyped me up in Spanish which was swaaaag sauce. One of them called me "ídola," and for you English speakers that means I am her idol.
Check out these cool views of the city. It's kind of crazy that I live here... like I get to see all of these sick buildings every day. Definitely a change from the same 37 trees I look at on Davidson's campus every day.
So after class I walked to get lunch and happened to pass by a pagar por peso place that only charged 13.99 pesos pero 100 grams so you know I had to check it out. And BOI did that ish slap. The desserts were 2x1 and I was so tempted but I resisted like the strong independent woman I am. When I was leaving the food court, a man on the stairs kinda gave me a look and I was like wassup and then he said, "Deportista??" asking me if I was an athlete. Then we had a nice little convo about how I run and where I'm from and the best part was when he ended the conversation by saying - in English - "Ehh be careful... Buenos Aires... be careful." Wait no - the best part was that I said, "Sí sí gracias," and then walked into a locked door, did a 180, and walked the other way. I'm very smooth and not awkward like that.

Then I walked to Plaza Lavalle (in the first picture) and sat on a bench and journaled a little bit. It reached 71 degrees today!!! Hawk ye-ahhh. Then I walked to my second class and kind of just existed for the 3 hours of its duration. I resisted the urge to buy ice cream during the break and that means I resisted dessert twice today so I am okay??? Class was cool because we spent at least one hour of it talking about drugs. Our teacher said she's never tried edibles before and I think that implies she has tried plain old weed. Heh heh heh.
I took the subway home and the weather was super weird when I emerged from the underworld. It was one of those yellowish skies that happens right before a tormenta (storm). But when I turned the corner of the final street, the sky was soooo cool. Swipe through the 2 pics below and feast your eyes.
When I got home, my host mom talked for 5 minutes straight about how she is so congested and feels like a sack of crud and that was a nice welcome home. I then got in bed and watched some food videos until dinner. Laura was in MUCH better spirits at dinner and I was happy to see that she was feeling better.
She told me how she got a cortisone shot and I said ew and she said it didn't hurt at all. I told her they gotta use big needles cuz the needle goes in your butt and she said, "Mira el culito que tengo," and that essentially means, "Look at my ass." 62 years old and still shakin' what her mama gave her. You love to see it.
I'm gonna work out now, shower I guess, and then do some little assignments before going to sleep. Sweet dreams to you all.
Song Recommendation of the Day: "Me enamoré" by Shakira (Shakira)
P.S. - The subway was THE most crowded today that I've witnessed so far and I tried to take a photo of Julie, Hannah, and I, but I could only lift my arm enough to get this incredible shot. If Tyra Banks is asking about me, show her this.
