Here is the Bernardino Rivadavia Natural Sciences Argentine Museum. Apparently ole Bernard here was the first presidente of Argentina. Who knew?? Probably history majors, that's who.

Good day, pals. And by pals, I mean the 5 relatives who subscribed to this blog and the 5 friends who also did. What a posse. So today was a 10/10 day. I slept in a bit, but I am saddened to report the nonsense I encountered moments after waking. A person, who will not be named, sent a message in our study abroad program group chat, telling us *not* to pet the stray dogs that abundantly roam the streets here... lmao. Apparently, this person pet a dog and it followed said person down into the subway station and had to be removed by police hahaha. Not only did we literally have a talk about NOT touching stray dogs, but the rabies shot is highly recommended for people going to Argentina and uhmmmm use COMMON SENSE?!? Anyway, I ate some breakfast, which featured me scraping the heck out of the jam jar to get out as much as I could. I did some little tasks while desayunando (eating breakfast), which included signing up for a mandatory meeting with the head of our program. Like the clever woman that I am, I chose a time during lunch hours because it said food will be provided and that means saving $$$ by not having to buy lunch.

I also facetimed my dear pal Claire (known by Clarese to only her closest of friends, but really only me) during breakfast. There truly is no better person to rant to about random crap than Clarese. She is so wise, so funny, and so intolerant of bullshit, as am I. What more could you ask for in a best pal? A lot more actually, but this is all I have to work with. Just kidding hahah. Clarese is the full package. Today I learned that Claire knows how to sew. "Just by hand though" to be exact. I can't WAIT to live with her when I get back to Davidson!!! Clarese knows Julese better than Julese knows Julese. And that's saying something. But enough about that cat-loving woman. Let's resume. After breakfast, I wrote an article about the (horrible) Teen Choice Awards for class and I felt proud to have done my first real assignment! My Argentine classmates said my article was good! That was lit sauce. I finally sucked it up and ran, and I took those photos of the museum during my run. The sights I get to see every day when I run are so cool. But don't let the palm tree fool you - it was 58 degrees outside. I walked to get take-out lunch at a nearby restaurant and definitely got ripped off. Ate the food but won't be going there again. I decided to walk to class... a 63 minute walk... cuz it was sunny out but actually just cuz I'm insane. My total mileage for today ended up being 9.3 miles and that's essentially a marathon. Well really it's a third of a marathon but what's the difference. I severely regretted my decision to walk to class about 40 minutes in. See the face of regret below.

I finally got to class and I was so worried the teachers weren't going to show up because they've been on paro (strike). They don't get paid enough. They showed up 19 minutes late... meaning I panicked for 19 minutes. Class was interesting though and I'm as excited as you can be for something academic, I guess. I met a French girl in my class and she told me and Julie that she knew we weren't Argentinians because we were the only 2 people to smile at her when she entered the room. Haha. People here don't smile. I took the subway home, did some tedious tasks, and then comé la cena (ate dinner) with my host mom. I ate 3 mini cheeseburgers, a fried egg, and a whopping salad. Gains. Since then, I've been sending emails and typing this. Before I go to sleep, I need to lift / workout and organize my readings for class so that I'm motivated to actually do them tomorrow. Chau.
