Surprise! Adjusting to life in a new continent is actually kind of hard!

This fine Saturday August 11, 2018 sure was one for the books. Haha just kidding it wasn't. I stayed in almost the entire 24 hours of it. My day began at 12:00am, as all days do, in an apartment in Recoleta with a group of people 12 people... only 1 of which I knew. We quickly headed to a boliche (club), Bayside Buenos Aires, where a ton of people smoked cigs indoors and the DJ played sped up Ed Sheeran songs, because that's what us Americans love to hear in the Argentinian clubs! It was great to leave there at 2:30am smelling like nothing other than cigs from all the second-hand smoke. It's okay because I slept goooood. I woke up, ate breakfast, and started my homework right away. I have to read Los diarios de Colón which is okay because it's actually pretty interesting to read what Christopher Columbus wrote about his first trip to 'Murica... even though I understand 47% of the old Spanish he writes with. The highlight of my day was going on a walk through my barrio (neighborhood) of Almagro. It was cloudy all day but it was 58 degrees which was very pleasant. Wait another highlight was the gnocchi, bread, and cheese / basil empanadas I ate. They were so inexpensive and the portion was so big it has lasted me 2 meals and hopefully will be lunch tomorrow. I Facetimed my mum, the saint of this precious earth, and besides crying for a large duration of the call, that shit was cathartic. I wrote a letter to my host mom because she is also as precious as they come, and I've been continuing to read my homework throughout the night. I'll be ending my night by reading more (cuz hell yeah I've been taking extensive breaks to prolong finishing this assignment) and by watching food videos.

Song Recommendation of the Day: TOC TOC (oficial canción de la película TOC TOC)
